Budd’s designed this custom pool in Moorestown, NJ, in answer to the owners’ desire for a rounded, curvilinear pool shape but one that provides a straight path for the family’s lap swimmers. The solution is a swim lane marked by a simple line of inlaid tile. A straight line in the water provides more than a path for this home’s swimmers. Visual lines create a feeling of movement in your space, an essential design element even for those sitting by the water.

Built on a large suburban lot, this custom shotcrete (gunite) pool is designed for both active and relaxed lifestyles. Beyond swimming, the design creates spaces for enjoying sunshine and shade, poolside dining and outdoor living. A sun shelf at one end of the pool offers a good place to rest following (or before) your swim. You also have your choice of restful shade in the nearby pergola or sunshine on a poolside chase lounge.

On the opposite end of the pool from the pergola, you’ll find a seating area that curves around a fire pit, providing light and warmth on a cool evening and a good place for conversations any time of the day. A wood deck attached to the house provides easy access from the house to the patio, pool, and more, including poolside dining at an outdoor table that seats 10.
